Cultural Charity

Our actions

In tribute to the legacy of Princess Grace, H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, President of the Foundation since 1982, decided to provide financial assistance to cultural activities.

Priority is given to those embarking on their careers, in particular the young dancers from the Princess Grace Dance Academy in Monaco and the musicians studying at the Rainier-III Academy.

In collaboration with the Fondation Prince Pierre, the Fondation Princesse Grace also awards annual bursaries to young writers and musicians.

The Foundation also oversees the Princess Grace Irish Library, which celebrates 40 years since its inauguration in 1984. On display are rare books, historical Irish American music scores and other cultural treasures from the personal collection of Princess Grace (née Kelly), whose paternal grandfather was born in Ireland. The library hosts regular events by Irish authors, musicians and academics. A children's section welcomes young readers and members can borrow books.

And also…

The Foundation lends its support to local handcrafts in the two Boutiques du Rocher. Many talented local artisans make everyday objects or baby clothes of very high quality by hand.

Personal requests for hand embroidered items for the house or even handmade baby clothes are also considered and any funds raised go towards the work of the Foundation.
